Black Bean Options: 

To make this recipe even easier, go ahead and use cans of refried black beans instead of whole beans.

Spice Level:

You can increase or decrease the heat by removing or leaving in the seeds in the jalapeño. You can also add in extra chipotle in adobo sauce to increase heat. 

Pro Tip:

If your black bean dip is too thick, you can always thin it out with a bit of water or chicken broth. Be sure to slowly add in extra liquid to ensure you don’t make it too thin. 

What if I don’t have an immersion blender? 

No immersion blender? No problem. When ready to blend, simply transfer your ingredients to a regular blender and blend until desired consistency. Please ensure your blender has a venting lid before attempting to blend. You cannot blend hot ingredients in a non-venting lid for safety.
