We know that protein shakes aren’t something people necessarily get excited about, but that’s only because they typically taste like chalk and feel like powdered chalk going down your throat. Please put your past protein shake experience aside and bear with us, because we promise this one will be worth it. You see, not all protein powders are created equal; but no one has the time or money to taste test them all. Protein powder can be expensive, and the last thing you want to do is waste money not knowing if you’ll like it. Enter: The Stay At Home Chef to save the day! We took the time and had some not so pleasant experiences to research and find the best protein powder and mix-ins for a truly delicious protein shake. Rather than just drinking one because “it’s healthy,” we find that it’s enjoyable enough to drink without needing that push! We found that we were actually going to the gym just for the excuse to have a protein shake! Seriously guys, that is like really messed up for our typically lazy world. Going to the gym for the excuse of enjoying a protein shake? That’s just crazy talk. Don’t worry though, you can drink this shake on your own. No gym required.

How to Properly Freeze Bananas: We have opened far too many family member’s fridges only to find an intact bunch of bananas, blackened peels and all. There is a better way to freeze bananas, trust us. You’ll want to remove the peel from the ripe bananas and lay them out on a cookie sheet. Stick the cookie sheet in the freezer to freeze them individually without sticking together. Once the bananas are frozen, just pop them into a freezer safe zip top bag. Milk Options for The Best Protein Shake Ever: There are SO many milk options these days, and it is all about your personal taste preferences. Some of our favorites are cow’s milk, almond milk, and oat milk. You can switch it up based on how much fat content you want in your liquid, with oat milk typically having the highest fat percentage. Additional Mix-Ins: There are so many popular protein shake add-ins out there depending on the health benefit you’re looking for. You can give hemp seeds, matcha green tea powder, and bee pollen a try; our favorite protein smoothie mix-in is Nutella. Trust us, you have to try it!
